Dr. Odette UMUGIRANEZA, earned a PhD in mathematics, statistics, and technology education from UKZN in South Africa in 2018, a master’s degree (statistics) in 2014, and a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from the University of Rwanda in 2006. She worked as a statistician for the Ministry of Labour from 2007 to 2012 before beginning her masters and doctoral studies. In 2019, she began working at UR as a lecturer in mathematics, statistics, and scientific teaching approaches. She has been named Registrar of RP since 2022. Dr. Odette is a researcher and data analyst. She has mentored (supervised) two master’s students in mathematics and Technology Education, one PhD student, and several undergraduate students in Education. She is still supervising postgraduate students. Her technical values are to deliver outstanding service to everyone while ensuring that citizens come first. Her leadership philosophies include, but are not limited to, visionary leadership, excellence, good inspiration, analytical thinking, team work, flexibility, good listening, humility, wisdom, and courage.
